We picked up our Forest River r-pod R-175 on December 29, 2009 at Country Roads RV Center in Midway, NC. They were a great dealer to work with and we would gladly recommend them. Their website is: www.crrvc.com .
We traded in our 2008 Fleetwood Sedona 8-foot pop-up for the r-Pod. We loved our pop-up, in fact, we traveled to Seattle, WA and back to visit family with it. That was a six-week long adventure that we hope to repeat with the r-Pod.
Back to the r-Pod. We named it R&T's Pod. Here is a picture of us picking it up. We were so excited. Trisha couldn't stop talking, and I was trying to listen to all the tips, info, etc. the people at Country Roads were telling us as we went through everything possible. We finally hit the road home back to Landis.
Here you can see the pod backed safely into it's new Pod-Port. We had this carport installed earlier in 2009 for the pop-up, and we were really worried that the Pod would fit. In fact, we had about four inches to spare. Good thing we didn't get the axle risers we considered getting!
Well that's it for now, as we get this blog off and rolling. While we have two trips planned already for 2012, I will be giving (belated) trip reports of some of our favorite camping trips since we have owned the pod. I might even throw in a few pictures along the way of trips with the pop-up, and our first camper, a 1974 Layton 25ft long travel trailer. Be careful out there. --R,T,&J.
Congrats on your new blog...it looks super! I can't wait to read all your back-stories and future adventures. Have fun...Sharon & SplashT@B
ReplyDeleteFantastic ride...glad to see the two of you enjoy the outside...I'm a bit bug shy/allergies and the such, but admire those who can and do enjoy the adventure of the great outdoors...Carry on and enjoy life as it is meant to be. God bless, Karen
