Weekend Getaway, March 16-18, 2012

For this first camping trip of the 2012 Season, we decided to return to Stone Mountain State Park in Roaring Gap, NC for a weekend get away.  We are planning on going camping with Sharon, Becky and Splash-T@B two weeks later, but we wanted to get an early jump on the season.  Our first trip here was in the long, long trailer!
Here's a picture from the North Carolina State Park's website.

Great Trip!  Check out our blog posts about it!

Mayberry Campground, March 30 - April 1, 2012.

We are planning a weekend trip with Splash T@B, Sharon, Becky?, and I'm not sure who else this weekend.  It will be to Mayberry Campground  in Mt. Airy, NC. We don't have reservations yet, but that is only because it is early in the season and we are waiting to make sure we don't have any weird weather.

Here's a link:  Mayberry Campground.

Update: Great time!! Always enjoy camping with our cousins!!!

June 25th - June 29th (four nights)  Cape Hatteras, NC. (OBX)  We decided on June 21st to go on this trip since most of the chores and projects were caught up, and there were no appointments of any sort.  We will be staying the the Cape Hatteras KOA.

Borrowed from the net.

Labor Day Weekend 2012.  We are doing something we said we'd never do, and that's to go camping on Labor Day Weekend.  We are going to Raccoon Branch Campground in the Jefferson National Forest of VA.  We've camped at another NFS campground close to here, but it was full Labor Day weekend.   We are going to try this one instead.  It only has 20 sites, 15 amp electrical service, water at the site, and no bathhouse. But it is supposed to have WIFI.

Here's the picture from recreation.gov 's website:

Site #15
Update:  We had a great camping trip.  The campground was nearly deserted.  The 15 amp service turned out to be 30 amp service.  There were no bathhouses, but there were flush toilets.  We will return to this campground again.

Christmas Break at the Beach.  We are going to Hunting Island State Park, SC  Dec 26th - Dec 31.  Wonder if we'll see Santa Hangin' at the beach.  This will be our last trip of the 2012 camping season.

Update:  This was another awesome trip.  The campground is just beautiful.  We will be sure to go back here again.
