Welcome to the Miss Anne.....

Happy Tuesday evening everyone.  It's Rob here taking over the blogging duties this evening.  By now most everyone has read about the exciting day we've had today.  It's been bitter/sweet for sure.

We have really love and enjoyed our r-Pod these last seven years, but we also have come to realize a little more room, an easier bathroom layout for Trisha, a north-south oriented bed, among other things would be nice too.

We've been looking for about the last 8 months or so.  For one reason or another, we couldn't find anything the checked off a majority of boxes on our must have list.  This past Friday we returned to Carolina Coach and Marine to look at five different trailers.  One built by Lance, one by Livin Lite, and three different Surveyors by Forest River.

The Lance was sold, the Livin Lite just wasn't accessible enough for Trisha, so that left the Surveyors.  After looking, talking, relooking, comparing, (you get the idea), we settled on a 2017 Surveyor 201RBS by Forest River.  It had the most of all the features we wanted in one package.  We went in, did all the math, looked at the numbers, did just a bit of haggling, and as they say, "the rest is history!"

Today I hitched up Pod for the very last time, I took one last photo, and then we were off to Claremont, NC to leave Pod and take delivery of our new Surveyor.

Today was definitely a process, we left home at 9 this morning, and returned about 4 this afternoon.  Two hours of that was travel time, the rest was taking care of all the set up, walk-through, etc. that comes with buying a new travel trailer.

I took a couple pictures once we got home, and started getting stuff that was stored in Pod, put away in our Surveyor.

Jackson (who wasn't at all happy when we were unloading Pod) wasn't too convinced at first, but once he smelled his familiar blankets and pillows, he figured everything was going to be just fine with the new digs.

That leads us to the next order of business.  Namely, a name.  I woke up about 3:30 this morning and never did go back to sleep.  I just can't imagine why....

One of the things I was doing was pondering what to name our new camper.  After awhile, I came up with the name Miss Anne in memory of Trisha's mom whom we lost in 2015 after a long and heroic battle with cancer.

Now Anne, or Miss Anne as she was called, loved to travel.  Her idea of travel usually included airplanes, cruise ships, luxury motor coaches, well you get the idea.

When I suggested the name to Trisha on the way home today, she asked my why.  I told her that if her mom was to have ever camped, it would have to be in something as nice as our new camper.  Plus, I think she would have liked the idea of us naming our new camper for her.

It only took Trisha a quick minute to agree.  And so now instead of "R&T's Podding Blog", our blog will be called "Adventures with the Miss Anne."  Have no fear,  I'm sure Miss Anne will soon get the hang of blogging and talk our ears off.

Well it's getting late, I've had a long and busy day, and my eyes are getting tired.  Tomorrow we'll finish the sorting and loading of gear into Miss Anne, with the goal of trying to go camping a few days next week.

Thanks to all who have followed our adventures with Pod and I hope you continue to follow along on our adventures with Miss Anne.

So, until next time, stay safe out there.....-Rob

A Pod's Farewell......

Happy Tuesday all.  It's Pod here.  I have some very big news.  Rob and Trisha have traded me in on a new travel trailer.  Rob said I could make one more post to tell all of my followers here the big news and  tell all of you goodbye too. I know I'll miss each and everyone of you, but I just bet some of us may meet again!!

Now I'm not going to tell you what they bought, but I'm sure there will be pictures and a whole blog post later.  I am glad to tell you that they did buy one of my cousins built in the same plant where I was built in October 2009.  Rob and Trisha have actually toured there and I know that's why they bought "in the family."

Here's a picture from my very first day with Rob and Trisha when they were picking me up.....

We weren't much of a gang then, just Truck, Rob, Trisha, and myself.  But, we have grown.  We've seen Karri the beach cart, Chillbert the ice maker, Rod the rod holder, P-Nutty, and Stinky the tote tank, just to name a few, join out team.

While I'll miss them all very much, I just know that I'll find a great home to move to very soon and Rob and Trisha are gonna love camping with my new cousin.

Here's the very last picture Rob took of me as we were leaving this morning .....

So to wrap this up, let's not say "good-bye," but let's say "we'll see you down the road somewheres."  It's been a blast, and just POD ON!!!

As always, keep it safe out there......-Pod
