Stickers, Selfies, and Technology.....

Happy Monday afternoon all!!  It's Miss Anne back here blogging this afternoon.   The Mr. and Mrs. left to go home about 8:30 this morning, so I'm settled in for the week until they come back up here to spend some time with me.  I even think they are planning to spend most of the week of July 4th with me.

Before he left, the Mr. left his iPad thingy up here because he likes to use it to read.  Well I got to messing with it and thanks to something called iCoudy thingy, I can talk with the Mr.'s iPhone thingy and his MacBook thiny.  The Mr. said he likes Apple stuff cause it made Forrest Gump a gazillionaire don't you know.  Isn't this all just grand?  It's like I can see what my people are up to even when they're not here.

Anyways, as I think we all know, the Mr. likes stickers.  From what I understand, he has quite the sticker collection of stickers that are not stuck on anything yet.  When I asked him, he told me that he could neither "confirm, nor deny" that fact.  But, just looking at Levi, both Yetis, the BBQ box, and myself, I think we know he likes stickers a whole lot.   He collects stickers as he travels, and he enjoys trading stickers with friends too!!

Well the Mr. bought the Mrs. some kind of machine, that I don't understand at all, but that the Mr. can use to make stickers. (I also heard, the Mr. uses this amazing machine more than the Mrs. does.)   In fact, the Mr. spent this afternoon working on some stickers.  Thanks to all the technology I mentioned above, I was able to snitch a couple pics and let me just show you......

Don't those look great?  I'm sure at least one of each will be stuck on the side of my slide out the next time I see the Mr. up here in the Holler.

As for the selfies, well it seems cousins Sharon and Becky came to visit Sunday afternoon.  Cousin Sharon wanted to bring up some different chairs for her deck, and cousin Becky tagged along to escape the heat of the piedmont for a few hours.   The Mr. even cooked a lunch of burgers on the Blackstone griddle.  As they gathered around the table, the Mr. tried to get a selfie of the group...they sure are a lively bunch!!!

Look closely, and you can see cousin Sharon trying to get a selfie of the gang at the same time.  While Jackson can't take a selfie, the Mr. got a good pic of him on his new camping cot that cousin Sharon brought to him that belonged to Miss Murphy.

Well I guess I better wrap this post up for today and figure out how to charge up this iPod thingy.  (Maybe I can take Miss Scarlett for a spin around the campground this afternoon!!  Wouldn't that be a hoot!!)

So, until next time, stay safe out there.....-Miss Anne

Meet Miss Scarlett......

Happy Friday afternoon all!!  It's Miss Anne back with another story to tell you.   I've been sitting up here all week, while the Mr. and Mrs. have been busy back home.  Early this afternoon, they rolled up in Levi, and he was pulling the utility trailer with the niftiest red golf cart riding in it.

In short order, they had me opened up and everything set up for a long weekend.   It seems their purpose was two-fold, to escape the heat back home, and to bring their new golf cart up to their summer place.

Levi told me that on the way home this past Tuesday morning, they all took a little detour to C C Golf Cars in Boonville, NC.  There the Mr. and Mrs. found just exactly what they were looking for, and in short order a deal was made.

Levi and the Mr. drove back up to Boonville early Wednesday morning to take delivery of the new to us, Miss Scarlett.  Of course, at this time, no-one knew her name was Miss Scarlett just yet.

As for the particulars about her, Miss Scarlett is a 2008 Club Car Precedent.  She's 48 volt electric, with a fold down rear seat and a beautiful shade of red.

Levi told me the Mr. and Mrs. named her Miss Scarlett for two reasons.  First, because of her color and second, she has had a mysterious prior life before joining our gang.  The name Miss Scarlett seemed to be just "racy" enough to pay homage to that prior life and sounds much better than just plain ole "Red".

The Mr. also bought a cover for her, and Ken at CC Golf Cars threw in the rear-view mirror that the Mr. installed before they all came up here.  The Mr. also made Miss Scarlett a sticker so everyone at the Holler will know just exactly who she is.  Seems the Mr. already has a tinted front folding windshield and a rear grab bar on order.  Honestly, it's no telling just exactly what the Mr. has in mind as far as modifications go for Miss Scarlett.

The Mr. and Mrs. also set up her very own parking spot here at our site.  I must say,  Miss Scarlett already looking right at home!!

Here's one last little detail to add to this story.  The Mr. had a very special keyring he had been saving for just the right key.  Well take a look below....

That's about it for today.  I'm not sure what the Mr. and Mrs. have planned for their weekend, but I've heard the Mr. say they do need to make a trip to Lowes!!

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-Miss Anne and Crew

In the Cool of the Morning......

Good Monday morning everyone.  It's Miss Anne here this morning with a little update to our activities.  I certainly hope all are doing well.  I've spent the last few days with my gang hanging out at our seasonal spot.

The Mr. and Mrs. arrived on Thursday evening, and I think they are planning an early exit in the morning in order to make a little side trip on the way back home.

We've had a great few days with Cousin Sharon, then Beth and Jon Kirk.  There have been multiple Wal-Mart Trips, a side road down by the river drive, a stop by the local produce market, and rides in Cousin Sharon's snazzy yellow golf cart.

The Mr. and Mrs. have probably eaten more than they should have, Jackson has been walked all over this part of the campground where I'm at, and the Mr. has even done a few things to "fancy up" my site here on the hill.

The best thing about each day these last few has been the mornings.  The mornings have all dawned, bright, clear, and cool.  This morning has even been especially quiet, except for the birds that all wake up about 6:00 am.  All of the weekenders have left, and there's only a few seasonal campers this morning.   I'm sure going to hate seeing my gang all leave in the morning, but I know they'll be back real soon.

In the meantime, here's a few pictures the Mr. has taken from the week (he says he's been slack about taking pictures too) for you to enjoy.   Everyone have a great week, and I'll be chatting with you again soon.

Until next time, stay safe out there......-Miss Anne

A Summer Place.....

Good evening all.  It's Miss Anne back here this evening to tell you a little story.   It seems back when the Mr. and the Mrs. purchased me, they had an inkling their camping trips were going to have to be shorter and closer to home.  That's where the story comes in.

As you know, they really enjoy camping, especially in the heat of the summer at Raccoon Holler Campground  up in the North Carolina high country.  Well about half or so of the sites are seasonal, people park their campers on them from May to October.

These peeps go all out too.  With decks, storage sheds, golf carts, well you get the idea.  If fact, Cousin Sharon decided last summer she was going to go seasonal up here this summer.  Not only did she do just that, she snagged one of the best campsites on none other than Fifth Avenue.  (Also known as road 5.)

Over the past couple of months, the Mr. and Mrs. have realized that the time I referred to above was in fact here.   So, the Mr. called up RHC on this past Wednesday, and here we are.  Set up in the last seasonal site available.

Yup, that's right, the Mr., the Mrs., Jackson, and myself are now official RHC seasonal campers.   The Mr. and Mrs. set up something they call the Cottonwood as a outside covered dining and sitting area.  Check it all out.....

They even went out to dinner tonight, all by themselves.  That's a pretty rare occurrence these days it seems.  Now they are just up here for the night, but I'll be staying here with all the other campers when they go home tomorrow.   They will be able to drive up, stay a few nights, and then back home to look after parents.

The Mr. and Mrs. even splurged this evening at Lowes, buying two outside chairs and two cushions for them.  (They blamed this purchase on Cousin Sharon of course.)  The chairs were on clearance, but the Mr. realized after they left Lowes, what while the guy scanned them, they didn't in-fact ring up, so they were FREE.  WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!  Don't they look just great.....

The Mr. also told me something big may be happening, but he won't tell me what just yet.  I'll make you a deal though, as soon as I know, I'll be sure to tell you.

Well that's it for this evening from seasonal site 23H (the "H" stands for "hill".....the one I'm on top of!)

Until next time, stay safe out there......Miss Anne and Company.
