A Trip Back In Time......

When we got in Truck this morning, Rob turned on the GPS and it immediately wanted to know....

Where To?  Good question!  We decided to drive over to Sullivan's Island and visit Fort Moultrie.  A coastal defense installation, which saw action in the Revolutionary, Civil, and both World Wars. And like most of these fortifications, was rendered obsolete with the invention of the atomic bomb.

Fort Moultrie was built, rebuilt, enlarged,  bombarded, bypassed, besieged, modernized, and even a small portion air conditioned and made resistant to gas attack in its long history. 

We walked all over the Fort and Rob took a ton of pictures.  Here are just a few of his favorites.....

Then it was back to James Island for lunch at Jack's Cosmic Dogs...

A quick stop by Wal-Mart, then back to the campground to hang out until we met Trisha's family for supper at Charleston Crab House.  The food was great, the visit with family even better.  I was awesome to see everyone!

We're off to bed early this evening, because of an early start in the morning.  I'm not going to tell you what we are doing.  You'll just have to check back tomorrow and see!
