Seeing You Down the Road......

Happy Saturday evening everyone.  Today has been a busy day for us today.  Rob mowed and cleaned up the yard after taking Jackson on a long walk, Trisha cleaned house, and has spent a good amount of the day over at her mom's house taking care of her.

But today was also a bittersweet day for us here at team R&T.  You see, we've been sorta beginning to think about a replacement for Truck.  Well after his walk with Jackson this morning, Rob went through the pile of mail on his desk and saw a very special financing offer from Ford on new trucks.  He showed this to Trisha, and a plan was hatched to go look at a new truck, and to see if we qualified for this special offer.

So about eleven this morning, we loaded up in Truck for what was to be our last ride together, drove to the Ford place.  Rob already knew the exact truck he wanted, and had already filled out the credit application online.  We got there, introduced ourselves, and as they say, "The rest is history."

Now we loved Truck, and had just had major services done prior to the summer driving season.  In 8 years of driving us everywhere, Truck had never left us stranded. But Truck had pulled the Pop-Ritchie, and Pod on many a camping trip.  One being a six and a half week cross country 8,000 mile adventure, two trips to Goshen, IN, numerous trips to the mountains, beach, several trips to Kentucky, and well you get the picture.  With plans we have for several long trips next summer, we felt it was a good time to shop for Truck's replacement.

We suspect that new TRUCK will also be the strong silent type, but will be a welcomed member of team R&T.  In fact, the two trucks were parked side by side at the dealership as we moved our stuff from one to the other.  We're just betting that Truck told TRUCK all about the adventures that lay in store, and that Truck was already looking forward to a new home with some nice people.

We'll leave you tonight with some pictures of Truck.  Pictures of TRUCK will be following soon.  Thanks for checking by and as always.....

Until next time, stay safe out there......-R,T&J.  (And TRUCK)

A Tail of Two Dogs.....

Happy Sunday afternoon everyone.  Team R&T arrived safely back home to the heat and humidity that's mid-August here in North Cackalacky about one this afternoon.
All is well.  Truck is unloaded, Pod is snoozing in Pod-port, laundry is going, and we're getting in the old end of summer break, back to school frame of mind.

Today's post is about our good friends Mark and Sue (aka., furpod) and their two dogs, Maggie and Micah.  Now Maggie and Micah are about as different as night and day.  Maggie is an elderly Golden who is very kind, gentle, patient, and just goes with the flow....

There you see  her helping Mama Sue catch up on her internet surfing.

Now Micah on the other hand, is a whole different story.  Micah is an 11 month old Irish Setter.  It took Jackson several days to even tolerate Micah for some reason, but now while they're not the best of friends, Jackson says he's O.K.  Micah is all over the place, loves everyone, everything, everywhere, and tries to do it all at once.  He almost never lays down, and he can wear you out just watching him.  These four pictures were taken just as fast as Rob's Nikon would take them, trying to get one good photo.....

Micah got to spend his first camping night not in his crate.  While it wasn't a bad experience, I think it was a little short on being good.

To wrap up todays' blog post, we want to thank Tinker'pod (BIG), furpod, Quilted Trout, and SurvPod for a great few days hanging with their people and dogs in Pigeon Forge, TN.

It's back to work tomorrow for us, so the blogging may be a little slow for a few days, but we'll be back.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.

Food......

Happy Friday evening from Pigeon Forge everyone.  It's been another great day camping here in the Tennessee mountains.  Since the weekend is upon us, the campground as seen a slow stream of new campers show up today.  There's even another pod here .

Today's activities seemed to revolve around food.  Either discussing food, cooking food, eating food, going to the grocery store, eating out, or eating in, food in some form was a big part of this day.

Once again the ladies loaded up after a breakfast of French Toast (ala furpod), country ham and sausage(ala Tinker'pod and R&T's-Pod) to go out and about.  The men did the same with our meeting up for lunch at a restaurant at "The Island."

After eating lunch, we all walked over to a nearby Mellow Mushroom to look for t-shirts, but we didn't find any to our liking.

After doing a little more shopping, we all sat in some rocking chairs, to watch a water fountain, and let our lunch settle so we'd be sure to be hungry for supper later.

After just a little more walking and shopping, we all returned to the campground for naps, chats, or otherwise to while away the afternoon.

Rob scored some great Lodge Camping Dutch Oven loot at the Lodge store as well.  It took two trips to get all of this, but that's o.k.

Before we knew it, the time had come to start fixing supper.  Mark (furpod) grilled some venison and it sure was yummy.

Rob fixed a double batch of Cousin Sharon's World Famous Rice Casserole and it was great too.

Tinker'pod fixed a yummy marinaged asparagus and potato salad, while The Quilted Trout fixed some great grilled chicken and meatballs.  Dessert was left over cheesecake slices, ice cream, and chocolate syrup.

So you can see, we did not go hungry today.  All in all, yet another great day here in Pigeon Forge, TN.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to check back by tomorrow to see the adventures we manage to get into then.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.

A Very Important Errand......

Happy Thursday evening everyone!  We hope all are well.  Tonight's blog post will be a short one because it's way past our bedtimes now.

We've had an outstanding day, ate way more good food than we should have, and are soon off to bed to do it all over again tomorrow.

We will share just one picture for you this evening.  Among the things we did today, we traveled over to Townsend, TN to Big Meadow Campground to pick up a Little Red Campfire that Cousin Sharon won in a trivia contest awhile back.  This was just one of the many things we did today, and even this was an adventure.

Thanks for checking in today.  Tomorrow promises to hold even more fun adventures so you'll just have to check back to tomorrow to find out what all we did.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.

Report From the "Sunglasses at Night Un-Rally".....

Happy Wednesday evening from the now official "Sunglasses at Night Un-Rally."  There are five camping units here having a blast.  Two pods (furpod and R&T's-Pod), the Quilted Trout (a beautiful Class C Sunseeker), the SurvPod (a Surveyor), and to round out the bunch a ginormous fifth wheel belonging to someone named Tink.

The name of the rally comes from the fact that there is an amazingly bright street light placed right between the two pods, lighting up the entire area.

Rob was out this morning snapping a few photos of our little group.

Today after a breakfast of square sausage, scrambled eggs, and whop biscuits, and figuring out a plan for the day, the ladies, (Sue, Tink, Meli, and Trisha) took off in one direction, and then then Mark and Rob took off in another.

Stops included the Lodge Cast Iron Outlet, The Knife Store, The Coleman Outlet store, and a lunch stop for both groups.

While the shopping was fun, it was the group supper that was even better.  Once again we all met in Tink's Pod for a lasagna fixed in Rob's CDO,  Tink made awesome biscuits, Meli fixed a wonderful salad and Sue kicked in Scotch-er-roos.  We had a great time eating, relaxing, and chatting.

After dinner we did what we do best, hang out, talk about trips past, present, and future, not to mention any and every other subject we could think of.

Next thing we knew, the street light had come on and everyone had drifted away for an early bedtime.  Be sure to check back tomorrow to see what all we got into.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.

Three Bags, Four Bowls, and a Cup.....

Happy Tuesday evening everyone.  After a few days of a major change-up with parental health care issues, we're finally here.  Where is here?  Why Clabough's RV Park in Pigeon Forge, TN.

We left home about 10:45 this morning, and arrived here shortly before four this afternoon.  The drive wasn't bad, and traffic wasn't too bad except for the last mile or two in Pigeon Forge.

It was hot and humid, and we got camp set up in short order.  Rob took a shower, and by then it was time to wander off to Tink's Pod for dinner.

Tink fixed walking tacos for our little group.  She even fixed a awesome lemon pie.  Check out a few pictures of our supper at Tink's place.

Supper was yummy and before you know it, everyone got their favorite adult drink, then the fun really started.

And you know, we can't really tell you much more about what happened next, because don't you know "What happens in the Forge says in the Forge."

Good night everyone.  We're so happy to be here and even happier to share some of our fun with you.  Check back tomorrow evening to hear about our Wednesday.

Oh and about tonight's title.  It seems that Tink's dinnerware options were limited, so we got to choose what we fixed our walking tacos in.  Our choices were, "three bags, four bowls, and a cup."

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.
