You Don't Know PI.......

But, you will soon!!  Happy Saturday afternoon everyone.  Our "early-ish" start this morning had more "-ish" and not much "early" to it.  When Rob went outside about 7:30 this morning, it was cool and very pleasant.  So he didn't go back inside, he just sat outside to enjoy the morning while Trisha caught a few more ZZZZZZ's.  Then we had to wait for a small rain shower to pass, fix breakfast, and get all the normal morning stuff done.  By the time we got into Truck it was going on 11 o'clock.

But that's OK.  We decided to just visit Pawley's Island, and stop back by Huntington Beach State Park instead.

We also stopped at Hammock Shops Village in Pawley's Island.  That was were we found PI, and invited him to come live with us.  We are both so glad he graciously accepted and will be come a member of our little group.

Of course we've told PI all about Cousin Sharon's Anastasia and Cousin Becky's Mingo.  We also told PI about Tink's Myrtle, the love child of Anastasia and Mingo.

He was excited to hear all about them, and hopes to get to meet them all soon.  We have a feeling that PI and Pod may even be doing some blog posts in the near future.

After hearing all of this, PI wanted his picture taken with both Rob and Trisha.

We're both pleased as punch to have PI part of our group now.  We'll be sure to post some more pictures of our day later.  So keep checking back.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T, no J, and welcoming PI...

Myrtle Beach State Park....

Happy Friday everyone!  We blogging today from Myrtle Beach State Park in Myrtle Beach, SC.  This was another spur of the moment trip.  We had a hole in our schedule, so we decided a beach trip was in order.  We wanted to stay four nights, but could only get three, but managed to end up with five, so all is good.

At any rate, we left home about 3 pm Thursday afternoon.  We arrived and had made a minimal set-up by 8 pm.  Rob got up early this morning to finish setting up outside.  So far the weather has been good, but on the warm humid side.  This is typical for the beach this time of the year.

Today has been a lazy day.  Rob went out for Micky Dee's to pick up breakfast, and fuel for Truck.  Then we were off to Camping World, Camper Connection, Old Tyme Pottery, and The Pig (Piggly-Wiggly).  The A/C thermostat on Pod isn't working quit right, but we still have A/C so all is good.  Rob will be fixing it once we get back home.

We had an early supper at Crabby Mike's, oh my, so much food.  Then we stopped by the MBSP fishing pier, then back to Pod for even more relaxing.  Life is good!!

The plan tomorrow is to strike out early-ish, and travel to Pawley's Island, and maybe even Georgetown.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for an update.  Thanks for checking by today.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T, but no J.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears......

Oh my!!   Good evening everyone, today bright and early, we along with our good friend Colton, were off to the....

yup, that's right, the NC Zoo.  Now we did see lions and bears, but no tigers.  But that's OK, because we saw snakes, lizards, exotic birds, plants, bison, rhinos, a cougar, crocodiles, giraffes, turtles, fish, frogs of all types, and DINOSAURS!  That's right we saw a wonderful animatronic display of dinosaurs.  One of which even managed to startle Trisha!

We were there a few minutes before the Zoo opened at 9 am.  We entered in North America, and by lunch had walked all the way to Africa.  WOW!  What a trip.

These are but a few of the pictures Rob took today.  Thanks for checking by today.  We are off to Myrtle Beach Thursday afternoon.  Be sure to check back by to see about our trip.

Also, we had a BLAST visiting the zoo!!  Thanks to Colton's parents, Carrie and Gavin for letting us take Colton with us today!!

Until next time, stay safe out there.....--R,T,J,& Colton too!

A (H)Ella Cool Happy.......

Happy Friday everyone.  For anyone who reads my Cousin Sharon's Coffee Cup Blog, you'll notice we "borrowed" her blog title from the other day.  Not to worry, we got the "family" discount.

One small change was to type the title in a way to highlight the "Ella" part of title.  At the Rally last week, our friend Ella gave us a way cool bandana.  We are so proud of it, Rob framed it yesterday and mounted it in Pod.  It just looks so cool!!

Once again, a great big THANKS to Ella (and Tom too) for this awesome camping happy.

Have a great weekend.  Thanks for checking by today.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.

Camping Happy's and Shout Outs.......

Hi everyone, it's Pod here today.  I decided to take over the blogging duties because Rob and Trisha are both busy today.  Trisha is working a seven day summer job.  Rob unhitched Truck this morning, then spent a while riding around the yard on John Deere.  After all that, he cleaned out my fridge, stripped the bed, and generally cleaned up my interior.  I am such a lucky Pod!

Speaking of lucky,  I know Rob and Trisha got several camping happy's this weekend.  A camping happy is a small unexpected gift from another camper.

The first camping happy was a way too cool "Rock My RV - Bret Michaels" bandana.  Rob says he is going to get it framed.  I hope he hangs it on one of my walls and not in is office.  This camping happy came from Ella, Tom and streamin'.  Thanks so much, I know Rob is very proud of it.

The next camping happy was a "Microwave Tater Sack."  This unexpected happy came from Sharon, Rod, and Happy Camper.  I know as much as Rob likes to cook he will be using it in my microwave.

The next camping happy came from Meli, Mike, and Cheerful Trout Pod.  It is already hanging on one of my hooks, and NOT in Rob's office.  I know Rob and Trisha just love it, cause I sure do!

And you just have to check out the "Recycled Wrapping" they used.  Since it says right on my outside "eco-constructed," I just love this wrapping paper.

The last camping happy from from Cousin Sharon and The Coffee Cup.  It was the neatest mug that has the initials "RT" on it.  She snagged it just as it was going in the trash.  This makes a great camping card holder.

Next, I want to send out a couple of "Shout-Outs" today.  The first two are to Ella for making the awesome Rally buttons everyone got.

Raccoon Holler, Where Podders and Marshmallows Get Toasted

The next shout out is to Ella also for designing and printing the coolest name tags.

Next, I just know Rob and Trisha want to thank everyone for bringing food, and all those who helped with the setting up and taking down of the Rec Hall for the Saturday pot-luck.

Finally, Rob especially wants to thank Mark, Susie, and furpod for all their help during the Rally.

Well I have better sign off for now.  I will be posting from time to time when I can snitch a few moments of computer time.

Until next time, stay safe out there....-Pod ( for R,T,&J)

Mostly Sunny w/Lots of Hugs & Happy Memories.....

Happy Sunday afternoon.  Each day Rob put the days weather forecast, along with the days scheduled arrivals, on our white board.

Today's weather forecast was "Mostly Sunny w/Lots of Hugs & Happy Memories.  This pretty much summed up this morning at the Rally.

Some of the group were up and on the road early due to long drives.   Others of the group were staying an extra day or so.  We weren't in a great hurry to pull-out.  We wanted a little more visiting with friends, and we also planned a short stop at Camping World.

Last evening was our covered dish supper at the Rec Hall.  Check out the picture below.  What a good looking group of campers.  Oh man, the food was awesome!!

We actually got away from the campground about 11:30 this morning.  We drove for a bit down the Blue Ridge Parkway and made a stop at Camping World.  While there we met a very nice family who were looking for their first camper.  You meet the nicest people camping (or at the camper store.)  We arrived home about 2:30 this afternoon and took Rob's mom out to eat a late lunch at our favorite Mexican Restaurant.

We are going to wrap-up today's post, but we will be sending out a few more this week telling more about the Rally.

Many, many, thanks to everyone who attended and made this Rally such a great time.

Until next time, stay safe out there....-R,T, and back home with J!!!

Them Hills Is FULL of Pods......

Happy Saturday afternoon everyone.  It's Pod here today.  Rob is catching a cat nap in his chair, so I grabbed the computer to make a blog post.  I think he's a little tired from all is un-leadering!

There are 16 total campers and 13 of them are Pod.  Lots of differents models are represented.  Plus, the names are awesome, like:  furpod, tink' r-pod, Happy  Camper, Cheerful Trout Pod, podisble dream, hoosierpod, and Our Pod just to name a few.  It's so much fun camping with family!

I just had to post some pictures of all my pod cousins.  So, I snitched the camera when Rob wasn't looking, or busy doing something to take a couple pictures of all the pods.

And many, many thanks to MY special guests The Coffee Cup, Streamin', and T@B for camping with me too!!

This evening, all the people are having something called a covered dish supper.  Don't tell anyone but all us pods, and our friends will be having a little party of our own too while all the people are gone!

Thanks for checking by today.  I'm sure Rob will be posting more tomorrow.  I am going to tell him to take the day off from blogging.

Until next time, stay safe out there....-Just Pod, (and all my camper friends too!)

Oh What a Wonderful Day at the Rally.......

Happy Friday evening everyone.  Like the title says, this has been a wonderful day at the 2013 NC r-pod and Friends Rally.  There has been lots of activity by all the participants.

Anything from visiting, camper tours, helping each other with questions, sight-seeing, junking, a caravan to Shatley Springs for a home style breakfast, visiting, two more podders arriving, and wrapping the day up with a campfire.  Even with the previous run-on sentence, we can't even begin to tell you all the happenings of the day.

It was so great to see people out visiting and enjoying this beautiful day here in the North Carolina mountains.  As we heard about all the different trips campers made today, we just knew most everyone had a great day.

We would also like to welcome two more Rally families who arrived this afternoon.  We are so glad you were able to make it.

Here in no particular order are some of the sights Rob captured with his camera today.

Tomorrow looks to be another great Rally.  Be sure to check back to read all about the days events.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T, but no J.
