Happy New Year......

From all of us here, to all of you!

We got home from Hunting Island State Park about 2 pm today.  The traffic wasn't too bad, and in short order, we had the camper re-winterized, laundry going, and all the outside Christmas decorations taken down and stored away for another year.

We really did enjoy our stay at Hunting Island.  It is a beautiful place, and a great campground to boot!   Rob said he was sure glad to have a laptop back to make blog posts.  Trisha's iPad didn't work so well at the task of posting to our blog.

Speaking of our blog, our first post was on Jan. 1, 2012.  Today Dec. 31, 2012 our visit meter is just north of 8600.  Many thanks to every one of our readers who visits our blog.  We look forward to many more posts in 2013.  Also, you will notice the blog's new "winter" theme.

During the weekend, we added up all our trips and we managed to spend 40 nights in our pod camping.  That's not too bad.  We don't have a clue as to how many miles we drove, but Rob (who drove them all) says it seems like a million.  HaHa!  Be sure to check out our pages listing for trips we have already planned for 2013.

Here are a few more pictures to wrap up our stay at Hunting Island.

So once again, thanks for all your support this year.  Its been a blast!

Until next time (especially tonight), stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.

Sunday Sunrise Special.......

Good Sunday morning everyone.  Rob was up early to take some pictures of the sunrise over the ocean.  This is our last day here at Hunting Island State Park.  We will leave for home tomorrow morning, so we may not post this evening.

Have a great day, and we hope you enjoy the pictures.

Until next time, stay safe out there....-R,T,&J.

Super Saturday at Hunting Island.....

Happy Saturday!  Sorry, the rain last night didn't wash away the corny titles.  We had a great evening visiting with T@B friends Alan and Carrie Friday evening.

We spent today exploring the beach, campground, and other areas of the park.

Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy.

Fabulous Friday at Hunting Island......

We know the titles are corny, but its o.k.  Our day here at the beach has been just great.  Rob and Jackson took a long walk around the campground and out on the beach this morning.  Then we all loaded up in Truck to ride into town for a Food Lion stop, then sight seeing by Ft. Fremont.

Ft. Fremont was a Spanish-American War era coastal defense installation.  This was followed by a stop by the local seafood docks.  The menu for dinner will be sautéed shrimp and pasta with Parkerhouse rolls.

Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy from today's adventures.

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.

Terrific Thursday at Hunting Island......

Happy Thursday.  We had a great day.  We did a little shopping, a little sight seeing, and even visited a bit with T@B friends Carrie and Alan.  Check out their blog on our list.

Here's a few pictures for you.  Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.

Well We're Here......

And where is here?  Why Hunting Island State Park close to Beaufort, SC.  We had to postpone leaving Wednesday morning so the last bit of a winter storm could march through.

Then traffic, oh my gosh, the traffic on I-95 south.  The backups started 20 miles from I-95 on I-26 east.  All of this combined to putting us here on the edge of dark.

We did a minimal set-up, got in the pod and had left-over turkey sandwiches for supper with coconut cake for dessert.

Rob is used Trisha's new iPad to blog, so if they if the posts look a little strange the next few days you will know why.  Until tomorrow here are a few pictures.

Until next time, stay safe out there....-R,T,&J.

Here's Wishing.....

You and yours a very
Merry Christmas from
Rob, Trisha, and Jackson.

No matter where Christmas Day finds you,  we hope Santa finds your camper!!

If you travel near or far, stay safe, stay sane, and enjoy the passage.

If your camping, like we plan to be, may the weather be kind and the snow not too deep.

But most of all we wish everyone a most joyous holiday season.

Just remember, don't wait up for Santa (you know who you are!)

Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J

Christmas Shopping, Oh Bother.....

Hi there, we hope this day finds everyone healthy and happy.  We decided today would be our Christmas shopping expedition day.  So after a quick breakfast, showers, and a trip to the grocery store by Rob, we set out.

Out stops included, Belks at Carolina Mall, Lowes in Kannapolis, Super Target at Afton Ridge Shopping Center, the Starbucks in the Super Target, and finally Best Buy.  We managed to get all but one of the gifts for the people on our list.  After we returned home, Trisha took off to Belks in Salisbury where she finished this last little bit of shopping.

While Rob does do online shopping for his family out west, every  year we just have to go out and find the perfect gift for those of us here in North Carolina.

We're not going to tell anyone what they got, but here is a picture of all the items we bought today.  Sorry, but for all you sharp eyed viewers, the ipad is Trisha's.

Now there was no way we could make Jackson wait until Christmas for his present.  It is a furry squirrel toy for Jackson to kill many, many times.  (Yes Becky we were thinking about you when we bought this toy for him!)

Now Rob is exhausted from all this Christmas fun, so he is off to take a nap.  Anyone want to guess what Trisha is doing?  Until next time, stay safe out there....-R,T,&J.

Christmas Decorations for R&T's Pod....

Hi guys, it's R&T's Pod here today.  I'm so excited because I am getting to make today's post.  Now for the longtime readers of this blog, you may remember my POST from last Christmas where I got all those neat Christmas presents.  If not, just click on the link and you can read all about them.

I don't imagine I'll be getting much in the way of Christmas presents this year, but that's o.k.  I am going camping on Dec 26th for five nights at Hunting Island State Park, SC.  That should be fun.

This year though, Rob and Trisha did decorate me for the holidays. Now I am really excited about getting decorated.  I think it makes me look even niftier.

Here's a picture of me in the daytime, check out the sparkly wreath on my door and the cute little Christmas Tree on my table.

Even my driveway got some decorations too....

There here's a picture of me at night, all lit up....

Don't I look just grand!  Even Truck got a Christmas wreath too.  It looks festive, but I'm not sure I'd care to have a Christmas wreath hanging on my nose.  But Truck is just tickled pink about it.  Check it out....

I even got to "decorate" the blog for Christmas too!  Thanks for checking by today.  We all wish you and yours a  most joyous holiday season.  Until next time, stay safe out there.....-R,T,&J.
